July 6: Dublin
Another wet morning met the group as everyone organized for their trips back to the States. Some were headed directly home and caught the early taxi ride to Galway and then the bus to Shannon Airport. Others were spending another day in Ireland and were headed first to Galway for a little exploring and then on to a hotel at the Shannon airport. And there were a couple of us who were headed to Dublin for a couple of days. Whether by car or train the route to Dublin takes one out over the countryside through several small towns. The mountainous areas of the west give way to a flatter terrain as the air temperature rises and the skies clear. Stepping from the train into Heuston Station one is greeted with an horde of people and warm air -- a total cultural shock from the last ten days!
Quick taxi to the hotel and retreat for the day.
