June 14: Berwickshire to Kelso 41.5 miles, 2452' elevational change, maximum grade +12.5%/-15%

Starting along the shoreline of the North Sea the route hugs the towering red cliffs and rocky outcrops. Beautiful vistas jump out at every bend of the road. After turning south the route heads inland toward the town of Duns, home of Manderston House, the setting for the PBS series Manor House. A delightful lunch and pedal off to Kelso on the confluence of the rivers Tweed and Teviot. Kelso is the home of the largest market square in Scotland! Hotel is directly on the town square making exploring by foot easy. Two night stay with a choice of a loop ride day two or hike or just hang out.
